...living
Cairo is as expected intense. Have been wakeing up hungover after noon since I got here and haven't really done much but walking the streets of this quite exiting city. Of course I have also been hanging out on the hostel rooftop drinking whatever's been at hand talking, singing and watching that red old Raah smile upon us, the nile, the small glimps of the pyramids that you actually can get from central cairo, and her ever busy streets. It is really quite cold here (belive it or not) nighttime feels like 8ish degres celcius but daytime is alright although its been cloudy most days so far. Today I managed to make my way to the egyptian museum for a relatively quick marwel over the ancient egyptian incredible craftsmanship. I have already got the feeling that most of that diciplined religous ambition to perfect everything related to the goods may have gone lost throughout the years. nothing unexpected of course, since free men tend to get lazy and selfabsorbent. At 2 euro for a bed and 1 for a filling meal and a half for a cab ride cairo is a cheap place for lingering. Eventhought you probably will be quite affected over time I must say I really appreciate the sundown (and other) arabic prayers that are heard all over ever so often. The price on the street for a oneway to Mumbai (bombay) is not bad at all at about 170 euros and it is likely I will make that my way once I had my dose of ancient sandculture. I intend to check out some desert oasis in the west after a closer look on the pyramids. might also go south and hopefully backtrack towards cairo on the nile. Of course I must also make my way to sinai, dive in the red sea and maybe climb something, like mt. sinai for exempel. I might stay in egypt a bit longer then I first intended, At least as long as the thrill is keepig me warm when the sun is hid. I already had to get a jacket. also got a pair of manchesters for the less sandy but still shady nighly ventures, which have started out with a blast. Nightlife is kind of limited, but with some casablanca feeling gentlemenclubs, skeetchy local mensclubs (that feels a bit like the mens ony clubs in mexico (which about half of them probably were gayclubs)) eccept beer but lots of waterpipe and odd old bearded men the sceene is intresting enough. As usual the first night was a story in its own. But I managed to get back to central cairo after just 2 nights in the suburb. It was wild though, which in good of course. Here's also an expensive but vivid jazz club and of course out rooftop terass, with bonefire, music, singing, drinking, passing and a sample of real characters that endures the cold night with irish tea (hot whiskey) or other improvised cures for that nonsinging, nonlaughing state of mind that people usually wakes up in but hopefully don't go to sleep without. I am having a hell of time, so dont worry, It's alright ma, I'm only...

Sounds like a life good enough.

Stackars muselmanen!
"Ät ej svin och drick ej vin!"
står det i Koranen,
det är dess doktrin.
Men den glade hedningen
utan högre ledningen
äter fläsk och dricker bäsk
- är han ej grotesk?
